Assignment Deadline Workload Planner

Several assignments. Different deadlines. See what fits into your available hours.

Capacity checks · Balanced daily work · No account or uploads

1. Your work and available time

Hours: enter 2, 1.5 or 1:30. Use 0 for no time. Enter focused work time, excluding breaks. All assignments must be available from the start.

Shorter remainders are allowed. No clock times are assigned.

Available hours by weekday

One date per line or separated by commas. These dates have zero capacity, overriding the weekday hours.

Assignments

Up to 50 assignments. Enter work still remaining, not the original total. Deadline day counts; use the previous date for morning submissions. Maximum planning window: 366 days.

How to make a realistic assignment schedule

  1. Estimate the remaining focused work for each assignment and enter its own deadline.
  2. Set the hours you can actually use each weekday, then exclude days off.
  3. Check every deadline, not just your total workload. If work fits, review the daily allocations and session chunks.
  4. As work progresses, update the remaining hours and move the start date forward.

Why an average can hide a missed deadline

Suppose you have 6 hours of work due tomorrow, but only 2 hours today and 2 tomorrow. Even if next week is empty, you are already 2 hours short for the first deadline. This planner checks that early bottleneck instead of dividing all work by the final deadline.

What “balanced” means here

With 1 hour available Monday and 3 on Tuesday, equal hours are not equal strain. This planner balances the fraction of your available time used, while prioritizing earlier deadlines. It can split an assignment over multiple days and may suggest short work chunks. It does not optimize concentration or minimize task switching.

Planning is not a completion guarantee

The model assumes all work can start immediately and can be split into whole minutes. It cannot account for waiting on feedback, group members, task dependencies or inaccurate estimates. Keep a realistic buffer in your estimates and availability. A feasible report means only that the entered work fits the entered time.

Assignment planner FAQ

Can I plan assignments with different deadlines?

Yes. Add up to 50 assignments with their remaining work and individual deadlines. The planner checks the combined work due by every deadline against the hours actually available up to that date.

How do I enter hours?

Use decimal hours such as 1.5, or hours and minutes such as 1:30. Both mean 90 minutes. Values must resolve to whole minutes. Enter 0 for days with no availability or assignments with no remaining work.

What happens when I do not have enough time?

The report shows the first overloaded deadline and the exact shortfall, plus all cumulative deadline checks. It does not generate a complete schedule when that schedule cannot fit. Shortfalls overlap and should not be added together.

How are assignments distributed across days?

Earlier deadlines are allocated first. Each minute goes to the eligible day with the lowest used fraction of its available hours, with earlier dates breaking ties. Equal deadlines follow input order. All tasks are assumed available from the start and can be split across days.

Is a session a fixed appointment?

No. A session is a suggested work chunk, not a clock time. The selected duration is a maximum; a shorter remainder is allowed. Breaks are not added automatically, so enter focused working time after allowing for breaks and other commitments.

Does the deadline day count?

Yes. Deadlines mean the end of that calendar date. For a morning deadline, enter the previous date as your last working day. Unavailable dates override weekday availability. The planning window is limited to 366 calendar days.

Does this estimate how long my homework will take?

No. You supply the remaining work estimate. This is a workload allocation, not a guarantee that you will finish. It does not model task dependencies, future release dates, calendar appointments or the effects of fatigue.

Can I save or print the plan?

Use Copy report or Print / save PDF. If automatic copying is unavailable, a manual copy box appears. Calculations happen in your browser; inputs are not uploaded or saved automatically. Editing an input clears the old result until you generate again.
